Gross sales are not profit

Etsy, eBay, Amazon and Shopify each deduct fees, shipping and refunds straight out of your payout — never broken down by order or by SKU. At the end of the month you're left rebuilding the same margin spreadsheet by hand, and every fee change or every new sales channel means starting over.

The SKU that sells the most isn't always the SKU that earns the most, and there's no way to tell which one from a marketplace dashboard alone — only after fees, shipping and cost of goods are subtracted from every single order.

Which files do I need to upload?

The payment and order exports from your marketplace, plus shipping-label files if you buy labels outside it. TrueMargin reads CSV and TXT files.

Does TrueMargin connect to my seller account?

No. It only reads the files you export yourself. It never connects to Etsy, eBay, Amazon or Shopify and never asks for buyer data.

Does TrueMargin do my taxes or bookkeeping?

No. The numbers are what your files say. TrueMargin is not accounting, tax or legal advice. It has no direct marketplace sync, inventory tracking, tax filing or mobile app.

Can I take my data with me or delete it?

Yes. Orders and margins export to CSV, your whole account exports as JSON, and you can delete the account from Settings.
